As 2020 comes to an end (thank goodness) we’d like to announce the winners of this year’s funding awards. We haven’t been able to give away as much as we’d like this year, but despite missing out on Tryweryn Fest and Teifi Tour, we’ve managed to give away nearly £2000! That’s due to the hard work of all our volunteers and everyone who came to a River Legacy event in the last few years, so thank you all!
The recipients of this year’s funding are: Exeter University Canoe Club, Paddle Plus, and Stourbridge Arm Canoe Club.
Exeter University Canoe Club have received some Palm spray decks as the lack of good quality decks was limiting the number of people that could go on club trips. With the new decks, the club can take more members on trips and keep them dryer!
We donated 25 colour coded paddles (thanks to Des Mes for sourcing them) to Paddle Plus in Leicester so that members with visual impairments and learning disabilities can easily identify the right paddles for them each time they visit.
Last but certainly not least, River Legacy has donated £1000 to help Stourbridge Arm Canoe Club improve and rebuild their club house and make it more secure after several break-ins caused damage. The photos they’ve sent us look great, and hopefully the club house will be enjoyed by all their members more in 2021!
